I’m thrilled that a photograph I took of woodland near to me has been shortlisted in the Landscape Photographer of the Year awards! These prestigious awards celebrate the best of the UK landscape, and receive tens of thousands of entries each year from photographers around the world.
I took the photo last November, on a morning where I could see before I left home that the light was special, with a light frost and a little bit of mist to catch the sun’s rays, so I took my camera with me and spent an hour photographing before work. The light was quite stable so it allowed me time to explore different compositions and I particularly liked this view with the warm colours of the bracken and the cool of the frosted leaves in the foreground.
