Contemporary Colour in the Garden, by Andrew Wilson
Colour has always been a major influence on my work as the most direct way to create atmosphere, especially when combined with a manipulation of natural light. As important as colour is tone, ie what you are left with when you take the colour away. The greater the contrast between highlights and shadows, the more dynamic the image or space will be, and this is something I explored in the RHS Hampton Court garden.
I was very pleased that Andrew Wilson chose to use this garden to demonstrate the point within his book, which features the ideas of top designers.
